At The Velvet Ridge Ranch we specialize in providing light and easy, one day guaranteed hunts. Good for busy executives, retired people, handicapped, little experience or just looking for simple, short hike hunts. We harvest bull and cow elk every year.

• A deposit is due within 7 days of the purchase of this hunt. The deposit is non-refundable, however if something comes up and you can't make it, your hunt can be rescheduled within 3 days of the hunt. As long as you give us a reasonable notice we will allow you to reschedule a future hunt and your deposit will be applied to it. All you pay now is your deposit, the balance is due at the end of your hunt.

You can hunt with the weapon of your choice, whether you opt for Archery, Rifle, Muzzle-loader, 50 cal, 30c al, or a Pistol. No license is required; it is all included in the hunt price. Hunting can be done within one morning or afternoon. Dates will fill up fast so reserve your spot now. These are a 4 day/3 night hunts. You can also expect to see bison and deer while hunting here. Our goal in 2025 is to grow the quantity of large elk harvested within our ranch.

We trust our hunters and want them to have a great experience by providing a guide to take care of your hunting needs at all times. We take the extra effort to score the all elk after the hunt, as well as transport, dress, and cape your animal. We will take your animal for meat processing if requested and take care of your cape and horns as requested, whether it is to ship home or send them to our recommended taxidermist. It is your hunt and we do whatever you want to do. You set the time you want to go hunting, come in, etc.

There are other very good reasons to decide to hunt with us. Along with knowing what you are getting. We promote and recommend our hunters bring along non-hunting guests. They are allowed to come, join in your hunt, and enjoy your experience at no additional cost.

The terrain inside Velvet Ridge's private ranch is awesome with two large ravines travel through the property. There is an area of northern pines, mixed hardwoods, and large boulder rock formations.
